As part of activities lined up to commemorate this year’s World Maritime Day on September 28, the Maritime & Offshore, OMIS Awards held on Saturday September 23.
World Maritime Day is organised by the International Maritime Organisation to raise awareness on the importance of the shipping industry, according to the Chief Executive of OMIS, Femi Da-Silva.
Other notable personalities also received awards in various categories
The well attended event, held at the Oriental Hotel, in Lagos State, where the Chief Executive Officer of Elschon Nigeria Limited, Chief Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji received the award for the Maritime Icon of the Year, 2023.
Africa Update gathered that Otaji, was Shortlisted from 28 nominees based on their leadership and significant contributions to the industry.
